We have been a leader in the HVAC industry for more than 30 years. But we wouldn't be here today if our owner, Larry Muscente, had decided to pursue his first love: cooking. Larry earned his culinary arts degree at The Culinary Institute of America, one of the world's best culinary colleges. As a chef, Larry saw his fair share of kitchen operations. It was when he was managing an oceanside restaurant in Southern California that the growing need for a skilled HVAC technician became clear to him.

The food industry relies on the HVAC industry more than the average restaurant owner might think. As a chef and a restaurant manager, it was clear to Larry that maintaining his facility's air conditioning and refrigeration systems was crucial for a successful business. HVAC service at that time was unreliable and costly. Being mechanically inclined, he took it upon himself to deal with the urgent HVAC problems. This was when he discovered his new calling: HVAC service.

Shortly after this discovery, Larry went back to New Jersey and attended HVAC classes at Mercer County Technical School. Word got around and his new calling quickly grew into a full-time venture. By 1989, The Ice-Man was a well-established HVAC company.
